Chicken or the Egg?
The age old question: “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” My rationale is that God, the creator, could have created either one first. But, it would be more logical to create a chicken before it laid an egg. Then I was pondering another question that involves what we believe God can do. Do, we pray first or go to the doctor, and if he can’t do anything, then we pray? Don’t misinterpret my view of doctors. I am highly in favor of doctors and see them as an extension to what God wants to do.
On the other hand, we are told in James 5, that we should pray first, and we will be healed by faith. But, the Lord may want us to go to the doctor to show him and his staff what God can do beyond the medical field’s control. God is the ultimate healer.
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” James 5:13-15 NKJV
