Do You Want a Quick Fix?

Usually when we think of a quick fix it is only temporary; not a lasting solution. As I was pulling weeds in the extreme heat for several hours, I saw many more weeds and hours to go. So, I pulled out my weedwacker and wacked the rest of them. Unfortunately, when the roots are there they come back with a vengeance. So, even though my neighbors had a short time of relief from seeing all of my weeds, it is only temporary.

When we think about heat, many times it is in a destructive way. But if we allow God to burn the weeds out of our life, as a refiner’s fire, we can become pure. God can bring permanent cleansing when we are obedient to His word.

“But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap.”

Malachi 3:2  NKJV
