Word Ammunition

Word Ammunition

I am sure you have heard many things about the words we speak, such as: be careful what you say because you can’t take it back, or “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). As a small child I remember many of my elementary teachers who spoke words of life, encouragement, and gave a sense of well being. But one day my teacher looked at me and said, “Wipe that smile off of your face.” I was shocked, as I didn’t even realize I had a smile.

I have been reminded to watch the words I speak, that they would be kind, uplifting and a building up of any situation. My words can be used as ammunition to tear someone down or ammunition for peace. I never want my words to be part of someone’s trauma.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.”  Psalm 19:14  NKJV
