Answered Prayer
Do you pray and it seems that God does not hear you? We tend to have a picture of how God will answer, and when He will answer our prayers. He always answers, but sometimes the answer is no. If we expect to receive an answer right away and we don’t we can become discouraged and may even lose faith in God. We have to realize that God is not on our timetable and His timing is always perfect. It takes more faith to wait for an answer than faith that it will happen right away.
“For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; nor has He hidden His face from Him; but when He cried to Him, He heard.”
Psalm 22:24 NKJV
I believe this is a prophecy of Jesus pleading in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Abba, Father, all things are possible with You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”
We know that God’s will was to provide us a way to heaven through the shedding of Jesus’ blood on the cross. Jesus was obedient to the cross because of His love for us. He knew what He had to do. Jesus gives us an example of an unselfish prayer.
