Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”  John 15:5

You are part of Jesus if you are remaining in Him each day.   A tree must be pruned to produce much fruit.  The pruning the Lord does is that He tests you, not tempts you.  The enemy tempts; the Lord tests.   If you are not being tested, then you are not a branch.   There are two kinds of vines: true vines- “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” and false vines.  Who are you attached to?  The fruit you’re bearing is an indication.  If you are not producing good fruit worthy of our Lord, Jesus gives a very stark warning.

“And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”  Mathew 3:10
