Have you ever wondered what kind of spirit you have? Many spirits are described in the Bible. Of course, the Holy Spirit, Spirit of infirmity, spirit of fear, spirit of heaviness, etc. “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.” Mathew 8:16.
We can be a Christian (one who has accepted Jesus as their savior) and still have other spirits come into our lives. Does this mean we are demon-possessed? No, because we belong to Jesus. Yet, we have not submitted every area of our lives to Christ.
However, Jesus has given us the authority, in his name, to drive out any spirit that is not the Holy Spirit. We need to make sure we close all the doors in our lives that would allow these spirits in.
“Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.” Revelation 22:15.
The occult, witchcraft, idolatry, fornication, adultery, and lusting after someone, lying may open the door for a spirit to come in.
We need to make a decision and remain firm in Christ Jesus, “I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.” Psalm 101:3
