“In wrath remember mercy” Hab 3:2

God is a God of justice and love. He cannot deny himself and His nature. He is perfect, and we are not. We can deny our nature, confess our sin and turn from it.  

We need to purpose our hearts like Daniel (Daniel 1:8), not to defile ourselves. We cannot do this in our own strength with many dos and don’ts. We must rely upon the Holy Spirit to help us. The result will be:

“…the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Daniel 11:32
