“Let no one deceive you by any means” 2 Thess 2:3
What does it mean to be deceived? Deception is misleading or tricking someone, causing someone to believe something false. You might already be deceived if you think you can’t be deceived. Jesus said many would be deceived and led astray in the last days. Why? Because of lack of knowledge of God’s word and who God is. We cannot sit in a church on Sunday morning and expect to be spoon-fed and know God. Please do not get me wrong. Going to church is very important. But you must read God’s word for yourself and be a doer of His word.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:” Hosea 4:6
God clearly tells us in His word that we will have false teachers and people who will lead us astray.
“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.” 2 Peter 2:1-3 and Jesus even said, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Mathew 24:24
Watch and pray; take everything to God. He will lead and guide you into all truth.
