When we believe in Christ as our savior, there is a hope we can have that goes beyond the realities of this world. God gives us this confident expectation that good things are going to happen. It is not based upon wishful thinking but on God’s word.

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27

Those who do not have Christ have no hope, “without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.” Ephesians 2:18
