Are there prophets today?

Most definitely. Why do I say this?   

Amos 3:7 declares, “the Lord God does nothing,

Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”

You may be saying this is the Old Testament, which is irrelevant. That is untrue; all scripture is for our benefit (2 Tim 3:16).  

There are prophets today, and Jesus even told us to beware of false prophets, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” Mathew 7:15-16 

 “Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?” 1 Cor 12:27-29

Many churches recognize teachers and administrators. However, they do not acknowledge the rest of the body. This may be why so many churches are closing their doors. The whole body needs to come together to fulfil God’s purposes. Are you a prophet? Eagerly desire the best gifts.
