There is a lack of concern for things spiritual. If the end of the age were to be marked by spiritual apathy, we would have already punched out. There was a similar time like this.

“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Judges 21:25

We have a king, King Jesus. So why is every man doing his own thing? Why is there no concern for God? Several scriptures come to mind.

Lack of knowledge – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children. (Hosea 4:6)

Deception – Jesus tells us to watch out for deception, ““Take heed that no one deceives you.” (Mathew 24:4)

Unbelief is a sin and is an evil heart. The Bible warns us against unbelief. “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;” Hebrews 3:12

Rebellion and stubbornness – “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23

If you are suffering from spiritual apathy, ask the Lord to give you thirst and hunger for Him and to turn from those things that are not of God.
