“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” Isaiah 43:18, and then God says, “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,'” Isaiah 46:9-10
On the one hand, God desires us to let go of the past; on the other, He does not want us to forget what He has done for us. When we hold onto the past, we do not allow God to do the new thing in our life.
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness” Isaiah 43:19
