Faithfulness
We often speak of faithfulness regarding how God is faithful. How about how we are loyal or faithful to God?
In the book of Numbers, we see that all sin is unfaithfulness.
“‘When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit in unfaithfulness against the Lord, and that person is guilty, then he shall confess the sin which he has committed. He shall make restitution for his trespass in full…” Numbers 5:6-7
The sin you may have committed may be against another, but it is ultimately against the Lord. All sin is unrighteousness and unfaithful to God. We are called to be holy, righteous and blameless before the Lord. We are to make restitution. Making restitution means turning back. You were going in the wrong direction away from the Lord, and now you are committing and turning toward the Lord to walk in faithfulness.
Confess any sin the Holy Spirit brings to mind right now and ask for forgiveness.
“…righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17
