God fills us up when we are empty

As I was going over the mountain on my way to a ministry event, I realized I had twenty-seven miles to go till my gas tank was empty, and then it dropped sharply down to six miles. I started praying. I asked the Lord to put enough gas in my tank to make it to the gas station. By the time I reached the top of the mountain, I had zero miles to go. I just kept saying; I trust you, Lord, to get me there.

When you are empty, you need to speak to your soul and declare that you trust God.

As I started downhill, I saw an exit with a gas station sign. I was about to get off, and the Lord said, “not that one.” I continued down the road another couple of miles until the Lord told me to get off. As I pulled into the gas station, I realized this was the cheapest gas I had seen. I proceeded to fill up the tank, and I put twenty gallons of gas in the tank. I looked up later that my gas tank only held nineteen gallons. God goes beyond measure to fill us up.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
