Repressed anger

We all have things that happen in life that make us disappointed, angry, or upset: a car breaks down…again, you lose a friend, or a parent is changing before your eyes. Repressed anger or other feelings can be a sign of avoidance. You may not even be aware that you are avoiding the emotions until you ask the Lord to show you why you are acting a certain way. If you don’t want to face a situation or are angry every time you do, you may be bottling up your emotions.

God says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Mathew 11:28

God desires for you to lay all at His feet. He wants to help you sort through, as my friend used to say, “the junk in the trunk.”

The Holy Spirit will show you what you cannot see, “Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege.” Psalm 31:21

This is God’s love for us. He does not want us to be burdened or, worse yet, go down a path that continues to get rocky or feels like a constant battle.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” Psalm 28:7
