Many Christians in the last days are going to depart from their faith, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,” 1 Timothy 4:1
Deception and false doctrines will be the primary reason some will depart from the faith. I heard a pastor once say, “if you believe you can’t be deceived, you are already deceived.”
How do you guard against spirits of deception, false doctrines or spirits of error?
- Listen, obey God, and remain faithful. The just live by faith (Romans 1:16-17)
- Submit to God and resist the enemy (James 4:7)
- Humble yourself (James 4:10)
- Test all things; hold fast what is good. (1 Thess 5:21). God’s word is the truth; test everything against it.
- Keep yourselves in the love of God (Jude 21)
- Abide in Christ (Psalm 91)
Warning, you cannot overcome without Jesus Christ.
