Are you desperate for healing? Are you tired of going to one doctor after another and all they want to do is give you medication to mask the pain? There was a woman in the Bible that was in this state. She had been sick for twelve years; the KJV version of the Bible says she had a plague. She was desperate for healing. How do we know she was desperate? First, we are told that she had spent all her money trying to be healed by the doctors, and second, she came seeking Jesus. This woman had an issue of blood. She was unclean, and she should have been separated from all by law. She was risking her life to come out amongst the people.
“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.”
Is this you? The doctors have tried many things, and you are still sick (depression, high blood pressure, cancer, arthritis, etc)?
This woman heard there was a new physician in town.
“When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?'”” Mark 5:25-31 NKJV
She reached out to Jesus in the hope of being made whole, she touched the heart of Jesus, and the result was a flow of healing.
Her faith made her well. Do you have the faith to be made well? If you are struggling to believe, remember faith comes by hearing and hearing by word of God (Romans 10:17). Seek God’s word today to build up your faith.
