Can a Christian have a demon?
Derek Prince a famous Bible teacher and deliverance minister, once said, “Yes, Christians can have anything they want to have.”
Do we want to be oppressed, deceived, tormented, have physical aliments or do we want to have the abundant life in Christ that God has promised us? We need to take back what the enemy has stolen from us, put our foot down.
“submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. ” James 4:7-10
James outlines several steps we can take:
1. Submit to God – Put yourself under God’s authority (Job 22:21)
2. Draw near to God (Jeremiah 29:13)
3. Resist the enemy – refuse to succumb to the enemies tactics (Jesus is the example, Mathew 4:5-10)
4. Purify yourselves (2 Corinthians 7:1, 1 John 1:9)
5. Repent (2 Corinthians 7:10, Acts 3:19)
6. Keep yourself Humble
7. Completion: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11
