Unspeakable losses

Romans 12:19 says, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.”

Incest is one of those unspeakable losses.  The victims often carry the burden alone.  Shame and guilt tend to overwhelm them.   The Bible speaks of a woman Tamar who was violated by her brother Amnon (2 Samuel 13).     Tamar’s brother Absalom took matters into his own hands and let anger take control and he Murdered Amnon.

God promises that instead of your shame you will have double honor.  He will restore you and give you joy again,  “Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion;  instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot;  therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.” Isaiah 61:7

Let God heal your heart.  Give Him all your sorrow.
