Nailed Down
Have you ever heard the expression “Everything is nailed down.” It is secure, it is finished, complete, you don’t have to worry about a thing, and no more work is needed.
The work that Jesus did on the cross was nailed down by faith, hope, and love.
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
Paul, when he was praying for his fellow, Christians he prayed this prayer, “We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thess 1:2-4
Jesus completed the work on the cross through faith, he endured with hope, and it was a labor of love for us.
“He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:3-5
It is done! He took all so that we could live abundantly!
